It all strated with a fire
Uusikaupunki –town burned down twice in the middle of the 19th Century. After the fires there was a lot to build for active-natured men through the coming decades. A David Lönnröth noticed this and moved to the edges of the town startging to work eagerly. The young family lived in a small hut for the first year, because the orders of the customers had to be prioritized over own housing.
After a few decades quite a bunch of construction workers – and David’s grown-up son, David Junior – were hovering around in David´s businesses. David got also interested in seafare, so partnerships in the dockyard and sail-ships became the entrepreneur’s everyday life.
Boats have been in the focus for the craftsmen of the family besides housebuilding thereafter. Crafting boats has brought joy of making something beautiful. At the same time it has been a challenge to create something practical and well-functioning.
From father to son
Companies and generations have gone their ways, but the know-how has always been transferred from father to son. This tradition has been going on for 7th generations today.
In Time Yachts Oy continues the activities that begun over 150 years ago. Our company employs boat builders, engineers, designers and carpenters as well as painters and mechanics. Creativity, hard work and commitment are as important to us as they were to David Lönnroth in his time.
